Goodbye </3

Nothing prepared me for what I was about to hear.
I never thought I’d lose everything I held so dear.
The times we had together, they flicker in my mind.
How it all makes sense now, never knew I was so blind.
You took advantage of my young and carefree heart.
You lied to me; convinced me we were never going to part.
But you went crawling back to her with that sorry look in your eyes.
I should have seen it coming – it shouldn’t have been a surprise.
I grieved and wallowed and cried for you but still you just don’t care.
I let you kill me in your own little way but now its just not fair.
It’s time to say goodbye baby, it’s all been said and done.
I gave you everything; you’ve had more than your fair share of fun.
You don’t think I’m strong enough, I guess that’s partly true.
How could anyone turns their back on someone as perfect as you?
But if I don’t escape now I know I never will.
And I know that if I do come back you’ll strive to hurt me still.
